According to a report by wakadaily Yemi Alade supposedly claimed that one of the main factors hindering her from winning awards in Nigeria is her refusal to engage in intimate relationships with influential individuals.

It has been claimed that she also mentioned the occurrence of numerous negative events within the Nigerian music industry. Despite her song being highly popular on YouTube, she expressed her disappointment in the lack of recognition and awards she receive.

In response to this, Yemi Alade publicly criticized a well-known blog for disseminating false information. She voiced her frustration, stating that the blog had now resorted to fabricating stories whenever they had nothing else to do.

She also criticized the blog for being foolish and lacking intelligence.
