UNILORIN expels five, suspends 14 for examination malpractices, theft

The authorities of unilorin, Kwara State  has expelled and rusticated 19 students, including six final-year students of the institute claiming to have been involved in some various offences.

Kunle Akogun, the school’s Director of Corporate Affairs in his statement on Monday,  with the approval of expulsion/rustication of the affected students by the Vice-Chancellor, Wahab Egbewole (SAN), was a following the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee at its 220th and 221st meetings.

It was stated that the affected students were punished for offences aligning from misconduct, theft, examination malpractices, hostel bed-space racketeering and extortion, beating a fellow student, admission racketeering and assault.

Moreso, the penalties for the offences committed by the students included rustication for either one semester or one academic session and expulsion.

This affected students were at their various academic levels, such as 100, 200, 300, and 400.

As maintained by the statement, five of the students were expelled from the university for examination malpractice and theft while 14 others were rusticated for one semester or a complete academic session.

As claimed by the statement, the expelled students, were Amatokwu Evans of the Department of Art Education, Nwachukwu Chinedu Joshua, Department of Biochemistry; Oshinboluro Temitope Joshua, Mathematics Department; Sulaimon Mayowa, Biochemistry; and Okanle Oluwatimileyin Samuel, Physiotherapy Department.
