Kogi State commissioner of Police support 25 deceased cops’ families with N39million

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police  Bethrand Onuoha, has presented cheques worth N39million to the families of 25 deceased policemen in the state.

In a statement on Thursday, William Aya, the command’s spokesman, said the cheques were handed over to the families on Wednesday.

As claimed by the statement, Onuoha, while giving out the cheques to the families, explained that “The gesture was part of the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance schemes aimed at improving the welfare of the families of deceased police officers and to also support police officers who became accident victims while carrying out their duty.”

He further said these motion was to also encourage other officers in active service to be diligent.

“The Nigeria Police Force recognises the sacrifices made to secure the nation by the deceased officers as well as those who are accident victims,” the CP said.

The CP instructed the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but to make use of it wisely for the betterment of their families.

The beneficiaries appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the his kind gestures as they vowed to make use of the money for the benefit of their families.
