NASENI, Prada Uzodinma to partner on developing cutting-edge educational resources for PWD’s

Barrister Prada Uzodimma, the founder of The Ability Life Initiative, has urged the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to develop cutting-edge educational resources for people with disabilities (PWDs) in an effort to promote inclusive education.

During her recent courtesy call at NASENI’s Abuja headquarters, she made the call to Mr. Khalil Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the organization.

She stated that the purpose of the visit was to become acquainted with NASENI’s operations and identify potential areas of cooperation between the organization and The Ability Life Initiative, a foundation dedicated to closing the gap for people with disabilities.

Uzodimma praised NASENI for its enormously inventive recent advancements, particularly under the present management group, and said she would be happy to collaborate with the organization to provide creative educational materials for people with disabilities.

“As an advocate of education and inclusivity, I strongly support the production of inclusive learning materials in schools, and a collaboration with NASENI can empower individuals with disabilities with technological learning tools and attract investors to support locally manufactured accessible devices.

“I am excited to embark on this promising partnership with the new NASENI,” she said.

But she bemoaned the fact that many disabled learners, particularly in public schools, were falling behind because there were little or no learning aids available to them. She went on to say that her Foundation was prepared to offer intervention measures to the extent of its resources.

“Every child has a right to inclusive education, including children with disabilities, no one should be excluded, and that is what I stand for, and I will fuse that in my projects for this year.

“We are going to schools, and I want to also encourage schools owned by government at all levels to take in people that have disabilities, but in most cases when you go to these schools you find out that some of the barriers is that they don’t have assistive technological learning devices for them to effectively learn,” she added.

NASENI CEO Halilu praised Uzodimma for her commitment to ensure that the underprivileged, particularly PWDs, have access to education and may realize their aspirations in his remarks.

As a result, he promised that he was ready to collaborate with her Foundation and reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to developing novel ideas that will advance inclusive education.

The humanitarian Barr. Prada Uzodimma, a legal legend from Imo state, frequently appears on television to inform the public about their legal and human rights.

She has devoted her career to influencing youth and is an accomplished lawyer with a plethora of legal knowledge and expertise.

In order to help impoverished but aspirational young lawyers in Nigeria realize their dreams of becoming lawyers by covering their Nigerian Law School tuition fees, she established the Prada Uzodimma Law School Scholarship Grant (PUSG) in 2021 in collaboration with Principle Legal Consult. Since then, she has supported thirty law students.
