The governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has urged his followers to ignore false information being spread on social media on his qualifications.

Speaking about the controversy surrounding his qualifications and academic records, Aiyedatiwa gave his followers peace of mind, telling them not to worry about the rumors circulating on social media.

While speaking to the 130 traditional rulers who had gathered to support him as their chosen candidate for the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) primary, the governor made this statement.

Aiyedatiwa refuted all unfounded claims regarding his academic background, taking the time to recount his educational career from elementary school to university level.

He urged party members and monarchs to disregard overly ambitious politicians and those who were swarming social media with accusations that he was unfit because he was displaying phony credentials.

In order to achieve his goals of winning the APC governorship ticket at the primary election set for April 20, 2024, and ultimately winning the November 16th gubernatorial election, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged his party members and supporters to stay committed to supporting his administration.

Oba Samuel Adeoye, the Molokun of Atijere Kingdom and the Chairman of the 130 kings of Ondo State, had said that the delegation supported the governor in the upcoming primary and general elections in the state.

During the meeting, the traditional rulers also made a number of demands, such as asking for five percent of the local government’s budget to be allocated to them, providing the kings with vehicles to improve their mobility, grading Obas on a regular basis, providing healthcare support for ailing rulers, and placing their staff directly under their supervision for disciplinary actions.

Governor Aiyedatiwa responded by telling his guests that their requests had been duly acknowledged.

He promised to solve the matter within a week and indicated that the topic of giving traditional rulers 5% of local government funding was already being thought through.

The governor of Ondo State has promised to put their employees immediately under the control of traditional rulers and indicated a willingness to gradually supply automobiles for them.

The governor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to examining and carrying out upgrades as needed with regard to the periodic upgrading of Obas.

He gave his visitors the assurance that helping farmers would help others who own farms as well, pointing out the recent distribution of maize to stabilize market prices.

The governor also restated the government’s pledge to provide medical assistance to ailing monarchs.
