Nuestack Agency, a design and marketing agency, has revealed the African Icon Library will feature traditional artifacts, cultural patterns, historical figures, and everyday scenes.
According to the report, Tomiwa Ogunmodede, the founder of Nuestack Agency and co-creator of Retna.io, spearheaded the initiative to fill a crucial void in the design industry
Ogunmodede said, the highlights of the African Icon Library include authentic representation; traditional artifacts, cultural patterns, historical figures, and everyday scenes and designer-friendly; free to download on Figma Community, compatible with popular design tools.
He said, “We want designers to have authentic, curated visual elements that celebrate the diversity of African cultures. This is an essential step towards greater inclusion in the industry.”
The African Library Icon was aimed at designers, artists, and educators, offering essential resources to integrate African culture into their creative work.
“This unique resource offers 100+ original SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) icons and illustrations inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Africa, starting with Nigeria and soon extending to Ghana and Cameroon. SVG is an XML-based, vector image format for the Web and other environments. The SVG format stores images as vectors.
“Nuestack Agency is committed to expanding the African Icon Library. Future additions will include icons representing other African cultures, creating a comprehensive toolkit for designers worldwide who seek authentic African representation.”
