Don lauds FUOYE on CBT centre

Dr. Adeleke Omolade, the  Director, Centre for Continuing Education, Federal University, Oye Ekiti, has lauded the high-quality facilities provided in the institution for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations and other Computer-Based tests and examinations.

Omolade said the development was possible because of the support given to the Centre by Prof. Abayomi Fasina, the University’s Vice-Chancellor;  Aare Adebayo Akomolafe; and the good people of Ire-Ekiti.

In December 2023, Akomolafe, a philanthropist, said he donated an ultra-modern facility that is fully air-conditioned, with 275 new laptops, named Aare Adebayo Akomolafe CBT Centre to FUOYE Institute of Part-time Studies, Ire Ekiti.

The recent UTME which was held on April 19 and 20 were the first examinations conducted in the facility.

Omolade, who was represented by Wole Balogun, the Vice-Chancellor’s Special Adviser Media, stated that the 1038 candidates who wrote UTME in the facility expressed delight that it was hitch-free and conducted in a conducive and serene environment.

He stated, “The fact that FUOYE has a very great facility for the conduct of UTME was attested to by the JAMB Monitoring Team led by the VC of Afe Babalola University, Prof. Smaranda Olarinde.

“A total number of 1,038 sat for UTME at the Centre on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th, 2024. We appreciate the donor of the CBT Centre, Aare Adebayo Akomolafe, who is a philanthropist with an unequaled legacy in every aspect of community development.

“We also appreciate our amiable VC, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, for his immense contribution to the actualisation of the objective of the core mandate of the Institute of Tart-time Studies. With the facilities at the CBT Centre, schools, government agencies, and corporate organisations will find it useful as a training and capacity development facility for their staff members,” Omolade said.
