Tinubu arrives nigeria today after trip to Europe

According to information released by the Presidency on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu would arrive in Abuja on Wednesday from Europe.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, disclosed this in a tweet on Tuesday night.

“President Bola Tinubu will arrive back in Nigeria tomorrow from Europe with his aides,” Onanuga stated.

The President accepted an invitation from Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte two weeks ago and left Abuja for a three-day official visit to The Netherlands on April 23, 2024.

During his stay in The Netherlands, he took part in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum, which brought together leaders of organizations and corporations from both nations.

Separate meetings were also held with His Royal Majesty, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima.

As stated earlier by Ajuri Ngelale, his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Tinubu left The Netherlands for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on April 28–29 to attend a World Economic Forum Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development.

He reviewed everything that’s been carried out since the first Growth Summit, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2023, alongside more than 1,000 executives from industry, government, and academia from more than 90 countries.

In the last five months, he had made two trips to the Gulf state.

Nevertheless, the President took some time to travel home after the summit.

Sources within the Presidency revealed that the President went to London for a private visit and was scheduled to return last weekend, despite the fact that no formal statement was made regarding his upcoming commitments.

Tinubu traveled on a similar private tour to London between June 24 and 28, 2023, where he met his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari. A few days previously, he had attended the New Global Financial Pact summit in Paris.

After his return on Wednesday, he will have traveled overseas 20 times since taking office in May of last year, totaling 96 days abroad.

He has already made trips to Paris, France, London, United Kingdom, Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, Nairobi, Kenya, Porto Norvo, Benin Republic, New Delhi, India, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and New York, United States of America; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Berlin, Germany, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Dakar, Senegal, Doha, Qatar, and The Hague, The Netherlands.
