Nollywood actor Kevin Ikeduba has expressed his frustration with the Nigerian film industry, slamming it for its lack of genuine affection.
The skilled actor observed that the industry is rife with individuals who pretend to be someone they are not.
Without specifically naming anyone, he emphasized that the industry harbors the most insincere group of people who are incapable of demonstrating love towards one another.
In a recently surfaced video, he highlighted how actors and actresses portray themselves falsely, urging them to alter their behavior.
He said, “Truth be told, I dey laugh any time wey I hear say social media na fake life.
Una see social media…e dey learn for where Nollywood dey. Nollywood movie industry…na there wey the fakest life and fakest people dey. If you think I am one of them, na your opinion, I accept.
Why don’t you guys help yourself, Nollywood people and entertainers? You will see una selves but can’t help each other. Be living fake life, pretending to yourself to be who you aren’t. Who told you you’re a celebrity, you who is forming to be one? Have you ever enter market, riot start or traffic start because of your presence?
You all should change your ways, love no dey Nollywood. Stop pretending. If you don’t like a person, let the person know you don’t like them”.
The recently surfaced video is appearing after Yoruba actress Motilola Akinlami bravely accused her senior colleague, Kunle Afod, and his wife, Desola Afod, of intentionally harming her career.
Motilola shared a lengthy video where she expressed her feelings about the mistreatment she has been enduring from her fellow colleagues, which she believes is due to Kunle Afod’s interference.
She explained how Desola Afod, Kunle Afod’s wife, slandered her on social media with false accusations that she never committed.
She also pleaded with Kunle to stop defaming her because she no longer wants to have any kind of relationship with him.
Few weeks ago, Kiitan Bukola slammed an unnamed colleague for manipulating a movie producer against her.
She recounted an incident where she was rejected by a movie producer because of this colleague, whose identity she did not disclose.
In her call-out, she urged the colleague to stop being fake and hypocritical, and to openly express her dislike for her instead of pretending to be friendly.
