On Tuesday, Air Peace, an indigenous aviation firm, issued a warning, claiming that fraudulent individuals had duplicated its official website and tricked several travelers who were planning to book flights to the UK through their portal.
Only a few days had passed since the airline had begun operating the first-ever direct route from Nigeria to the United Kingdom.
Air Peace issued a warning to its clients on its official X handle about scammers that it claimed had copied its website and were swindling unwary travelers.
It added that the cybercriminals created a counterfeit website using part of its website identity assets and utilized it to trick unwary consumers.
It wrote: “Our attention has been drawn to the existence of a website “www.flyairpeace.uk” purporting to be an official Air Peace website and defrauding unsuspecting individuals.
“We would like to dissociate the Air Peace brand from this fraudulent site because it is not owned by us. The one and only website of the Air Peace remains “www.flyairpeace.com.
“Members of the public should totally ignore the site as it is impersonating Air Peace and fleecing passengers.”
