BET Awards 2023: Burna Boy becomes 1st African to win Best International Act fourth times

Grammy award-winning singer, Damini Ogulu professionally known as Burna Boy, has made history as he won the Best International Act for the fourth time.

The ‘Last Last’ crooner has been named the Best International Act at the 2023 Black Entertainment Awards (BET Awards), which was held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The African Giant was not present at the show, so his mother cum manager, Bose Ogulu, received the award on his behalf.

Burna Boy beats the likes of Ayra Starr, Stormzy, Aya Nakamura, Wizkid, Asake and others to clinch the award.

The singer is now the most awarded person in the Best Awards “Best International Act” category, as his 2022 album “Love Damini” was a worldwide triumph,  which has already won a BET Award in the same category in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
