The presidential flag bearer of the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso choose Bishop Isaac Idahosa, as his running mate for the forthcoming general election.
Bishop Idahosa is an Edo State born cleric and founder of Illumination Assembly, a Pentecostal Church headquartered at Lekki Light Center (LLC), Ajah, Lagos.
Recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had recently said the NNPP and the African Action Congress(ADC) were yet to upload their nominations for the 2023 presidential election.
The party announced this in a short statement via its Twitter handle on Thursday to beat INEC deadline. The tweet reads, “Our VP Pastor Bishop Isaac Idahosa from Edo State.”
This came after a failed negotiation between the New Nigeria People’s Party for a joint ticket with the Labour Party.
Wakadaily reported that Peter Obi network has earlier urged Obi to discontinue any alliance negotiations between the Labour Party and the New Nigeria People’s Party, following the utterance he made on Channel Television.
However, the talk came to an end as Kwankwaso said he can’t be a running mate to anybody, noting that he has build NNPP for over 30 years, and can’t let that collapse.
He said, “The South-East is good in terms of business, very hard working and industrious, but one area they must learn is politics. They are at the bottom line.
Kwankwaso said, “If you look at the situation, they have lost out with APC and PDP; no President, no Vice President. The only opportunity the South East has to be President or Vice is with the NNPP, “this is the only golden opportunity that they have. If they lose this opportunity, it will be a disaster.
