Buhari’s govt Spent N24bn to alleviate poverty in Sokoto

Sadiya Farouk, on Tuesday said the federal government spent over N24 billion on different empowerment and poverty reduction schemes on it’s National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) in Sokoto State.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouk, disclosed this known at the inauguration of disbursement of Cash Grant to Vulnerable Groups (GVG) in the state.

“Farouk, represented by the National Coordinator of NSIP, Dr Umar Bindir, said under President Muhammad Buhari administration effective schemes have been designed to lift vulnerable Nigerians.

According to her, ”Programmes have been implemented in close partnerships with the state governments and the effort is a clear demonstration of our collective commitment to address poverty which is the core developmental challenge confronting us as a people.”
