Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, has insinuated that Nigerians don’t appreciate him enough As they keep spreading rumors about him and his family, while he keeps making the country proud every chance he gets.
The singer addressed lots of rumors being spread about him in a track in his new album, “I Told Them”.
He said instead of Nigerians appreciating his invaluable musical contributions and gifts to the nation, they spread rumours that his mum was one of the dancers of the late Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, and that impotency might be the reason he doesn’t have a baby mama like most of his colleagues.
He also touched on the club shooting in Cubana in VI on the 8 of June,2022, where he was accused of shooting a lady, her boyfriend and her friend because she refused his advances, stating that it was his police escort who shot.
The ‘African Giant’ said this on “Thanks”, a J.Cole feature from his seventh studio album, “I Told Them,” which was released on Thursday night.
He sings: “Is this the muderfucking thanks I get for making my people proud, every chance I get?
“It’s okay, I get. This Naija no love.
“They say my mama dance for Fela.
“They say I no get baby mama.
“They say I shoot person for Cubana because I want collect person woman…
Is this the m***ing thanks I get? For making my people proud, every chance I get.”
