Ekweremadu Trial: Alleged victim says he is 21-year-old

The Former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice Ekweremadu, who was arrested by the United Kingdom  Metropolitan Police on 23 June, for allegedly bringing a 15-year-old child to UK for organ harvesting.They, however, denied the allegations and the court adjourned till July 7 for hearing.

WAKADAILY earlier reported that the couple has been remanded in custody and appear at Uxbridge Magistrates Court last month Thursday 23rd, after the first hearing they were asked to be remanded in custody till July 7 while investigations continue into the allegations against them.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan, announced that the Senate delegation will be leaving the country by Friday for the UK to stand by their member Senate Ekweremadu.

The Federal High Court in Abuja, ordered the National Identification Management Commission to release the bio-data of David Ukpo. The alleged victim says he is now 21-year-old and not 15 as earlier reported.

At the court today (Thursday) a lot of senates were spotted at the UK court, those present in court are Adamu Bulkachuwa, chairman of the Senate committee on foreign affairs. David Mark, former president of the senate; Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, former minister of state for education, and a delegation from the Nigeria high commission.

Ekweremadu and his wife arrived in the courtroom of the Westminster magistrate court for their trial. After the hearing, they pleaded not guilty, Court adjourned till August 4.
