FIFA Women’s World Cup: Flacons jet out to Australia

Ahead of the forthcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Nigeria women football team has jet out to Australia to begin their training.

The team was hosted in Abuja on Saturday by the First lady Oluremi Tunubo to a farewell dinner in the prestigious Transcrop hotel.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced that the nine times African champions, will undergo 15 days intense training at their training camp in Australia, before the commencement of the World Cup.

The group left Abuja for Australia onboard Quarter airline and will be settling in their base in Brisbane, which is also the venue for two of their group matches.

Australia and New Zealand  is hosting the World Cup, featuring 32 matches, which will begin between 20th of July and 20th of August.

Nigeria’s opening match is against Olympic champions Canada at Melbourne’s Rectangular Stadium on July 21, before matches against co-hosts Australia and Republic of Ireland on July 27 and July 31 respectively at the Lang Park in Brisbane.

The falcons are in very high spirits and hope to bring back the cup to make the nation proud.
