Gunmen attack another Benue Link bus, kidnap 11 passengers

Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen reportedly attached another Benue Link passenger vehicle and kidnapped at least 11 people.

The driver of the bus and four passengers were however said to have escaped after the attack which occurred on Sunday night along Ogbokolo-Otukpa road in Okpokwu Local Government Area of the state.

A source stated that the kidnappers had initially demanded for N60 million, but came down to N16 million as ransom to release the captives.

Recall that a similar incident involving two transport buses happened on September 10, and 28 persons were abducted.

A total of 26 of those kidnapped had been released while two are still with the abductors.

The Commissioner for Power, Energy and Transport, Omale Omale confirmed the development to newsmen in Makurdi.
