Early Life
Hakim Ziyech was born on March 19, 1993, in Dronten, Netherlands to a Moroccan family. He was raised in an Islamic way.
He is the youngest of 9 Children born to his Dutch dad and a Moroccan mother.
He was raised alongside his other siblings, a brother named Faouzi Ziyech, a sister with the nickname Jam Ya and others not mentioned.
Career
Hakim Ziyech began his football career at the youth level with Reaal Dronten and then ASV Dronten before joining Heerenveen academy in 2007.
He began professionally with the Dutch club Heerenveen in 2012 and moved to Twente two years later.
He signed for Ajax on a five-year deal for a reported transfer fee of €11m, in June 2016.
He signed a five-year contract with Chelsea for a reported transfer fee of €40 million on February 14, 2020. He made his debut for Chelsea in a 3-3 draw with Southampton on October 17, 2020, and scored his first goal for Chelsea in a 4-0 away victory against Krasnodar in the Uefa Champions League.
Ziyech was eligible to play for either Netherlands or Morocco. He represented the Dutch at the under-20 and under-21 levels before he made his decision to play for Morocco.
He was called up to the senior team in friendly matches with the United States and Latvia. He made his debut for the Moroccan national team in a 1-0 loss to Ivory Coast on October 9, 2015. He scored his first two goals in a 2-0 victory over Congo.
