Omowunmi, the spouse of the deceased musician, Mohbad, has reached out to Nigerians in a pleade for assistance, raising a question in the process.
In a series of posts on her Instagram story and during a live session, she expressed concerns about whether Nigerians would allow a similar fate to befall her and her son, just like what happened to Mohbad.
She revealed that she feels vulnerable and dependent on the mercy of Nigerians, as she claims her life is constantly being threatened and her freedom has been taken away. Desperately seeking assistance, she emphasized her determination to fight for justice for her husband and vowed not to stay silent until the truth is exposed and those responsible are held accountable.
However, her life and the life of her son are in great danger, and they have been deprived of their freedom. She urgently pleaded with the Nigerian Police Force to intervene promptly and decisively to ensure their safety and to thoroughly investigate her husband’s death.
Furthermore, she is appealing to the compassionate hearts of Nigerians to come together and support her and her son in solidarity, as the weight of these threats is overweighting her.
On her father-in-law, she revealed that it was Mohbad’s father who had encouraged her to have a child with his son, recalling their happy times together. She questioned why her father-in-law is now attempting to tarnish her son’s reputation and wondered if her grandson would be pleased to learn about his behavior.
She wrote, “I know they will not let me talk! They said I am not talking. Now that I am, they are flagging me.
Nigerians I and Liam are at your mercy! Are you going to allow what happened to Ileriouluwa to happen to us? They are threatening us daily! They have taken our freedom from us! Nigerians help us.
Myself, my husband and my father-in-law for 7 days, he would always wake us up by 6 am every morning to ask if I had any dreams and pray for me, this man was literally my best friend. Baba gave me and my husband fruit and water to make a prayer from the first of July till the seventh, I got to know I was pregnant 5th of August the same year, and my father-in-law was so ecstatic over the news of my pregnancy. Why is he trying to defame the treasure his son left behind? Do you think Liam would ever call you his grandfather after justice has been served and DNA has been done? Go and get the court order cos it’s time I put my enemies to shame!!
I am determined to seek justice for the suspicious circumstances surrounding my husband’s demise and I refuse to remain silent until the truth is revealed and accountability is served. However, my very life, as well as that of my son, is under severe threat, and our freedom has been stripped away.
I implore the Nigerian Police Force to intervene swiftly and decisively to ensure our safety and to conduct a thorough investigation into my husband’s death. Additionally, I humbly appeal to the compassionate hearts of my fellow Nigerians to rally around us in solidarity and support. The weight of these threats is suffocating, and I am in desperate need of assistance.
Please, let us stand together to uphold justice, protect the innocent, and preserve the sanctity of life.

In the previous year’s Omowunmi bravely shared her late husband’s troubling experience with his former music label boss, Naira Marley, and also revealed how she first met the controversial singer.
According to her, the situation took a turn for the worse when Mohbad requested a change in manager, resulting in him being threatened by the label. This caused him to become unstable and eventually leave with no money in his bank account.
Speaking further, she disclosed that her husband started feeling unwell after receiving an injection from a nurse, which caused him to vomit and experience discomfort.
Omowunmi also shared the reason behind her falling out with the father of the singer, explaining that Mohbad’s father suspected her of being the cause behind the singer’s change of attitude towards him. She revealed that she and her father-in-law had a very close relationship until she gave birth to their son, Liam, which caused tensions to arise between them.
She stated that Mohbad’s father had requested their son’s placenta, but Mohbad had declined, leading to his anger towards her, as he firmly believes that she is the driving force behind his son’s actions.
