Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN Lekki and District Society  has elected Funmilayo Olaniyi, as its 3rd Chairman.

A statement on Monday said that the election was followed by the second anniversary and investiture ceremony held on Saturday at the Lekki Coliseum.

In his welcome address, Patrick Akamiokhor, the chairman, investiture committee, said, “We are witnessing the Investiture of a young lady who is amiable, a workaholic, a goal-getter, a specialist in networking, a giver, a socialite, one with very high doable personality and a lover of God.

“This Investiture will go down in history as the one that catapulted Lekki and district social from the second level to the 10th level, “ he added

Olaniyi in her acceptance speech noted that she had always envisioned the process of taking Lekki district and society to the greatest height it could be.

“I entertained no second thought when the opportunity presented itself for me to serve as the erstwhile General Secretary of the district. Indeed, the experience from this role has helped me prepare to serve in the new capacity. I want to assure every member of my full dedication and commitment to taking the district to the next level in collaboration with all our stakeholders.

My tenure will be hinged on the following goals: to transform our district to category A in the comity of districts in the institute, to inaugurate the foundation for the building of the district permanent office space, meeting rooms and conference hall, procurement of an 18-seater bus for the district, to complete the ongoing digitalisation of the district database and automate all the processes and activities of membership in the district among others,” she said.
