Don Jazzy, a music producer and the head of a record label, has taken a stance on the Asaba movie ban movement.
He shared a video on his Instagram account featuring a girl who shared her negative encounter with a movie production company named Great Rock Entertainment.
Empress Judas, as she is known, revealed that a producer from the company contacted her, expressing interest in her talent. However, they requested that she pay a sum of #200,000 to guarantee a role in their films. She complied with the request.
However, the situation became unpleasant when the producer requested her to have sexual relations with him, but she declined. Empress Judas stated that he stopped answering her calls and eventually blocked her.
Furthermore, Empress Judas exposed some troubling practices in the Asaba movie production industry, where young individuals are enticed to pay money and producers still engage in sexual activities with them.
She stated that numerous individuals in Asaba pretend to be producers without a legitimate platform, and the majority of the movies they create are only intended for YouTube, lacking any real significance.
Empress Judas also stated that Junior Pope’s death is not an isolated incident, as there have been other young actors who have lost their lives. However, she believes that Junior Pope’s case gained attention because of his fame.
There is also concern about the crew members who are still missing and have not been located.
Don Jazzy took a stance by expressing his approval of Empress Judas naming the alleged culprits. He believes that without identifying the individuals involved, the issue surrounding the Asaba movie production will not be resolved.
Movie producers have faced criticism since Junior Pope’s death, as they have been accused of negligence in their practices.
