Mustapha Balogun, a former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), died at hospital in Lekki, Lagos around 8:30 pm on Thursday, during a brief illness.
This was confirmed by a family sources who spoke to newsmen, he said Balogun, “became IGP in March 2002, he was born on August 8, 1947 at Ila-Orangun in Osun State, Tafa Balogun, was the 21st Inspector-General of Police. He was a member of cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Course 3.
“He worked in various Police commands across the Federation and was promoted as of when due. He was also a Principal Staff Officer to the former IGP, Muhammadu Gambo, Deputy Commission of Police, Edo State, the pioneer Commissioner of Police in Delta State. He also served as a Commissioner of Police in Rivers and Abia states.
Mustapha Balogun, died at 74-year-old, just few days to his 75th birthday.
