Early Life & Education
Mikayla Victoria Simpson was born on February 16th, 2000 into the family of Jo-Anne Williams.
She originated hails from Spanish Town, Jamaica. Her mum is an occasional actress, a Seventh-day Adventist, and a Ministry of Health employee.
She is the elder sister to his brother named Karma.
Koffee attended Ardenne High School in Kingston, Jamaica for her high school education.
Career
Koffee was initially inspired to do music by her mother’s religious background. She taught herself to play the guitar while also singing in the church choir.
She began to write lyrics in high school while also drawing inspiration from Protoje and Chronixx.
She came through with her first song “Legend”, in 2017 performed with just her voice and acoustic guitar. Her tribute song to the Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt went viral on Instagram as the athlete also reposted it on his Instagram page.
She was introduced by Cocoa Tee at the Rebel Salute, a reggae festival, as she gets to perform with her musical inspirations Protoje and Chronixx.
Koffee came to the limelight for her single “Burning” and follow up with the release of another single titled “Toast” as produced by Izybeats and Walshy Fire of Major Lazer.
She signed with Columbia Records UK in 2018 and released her debut EP, Rapture under the imprint.
She released her debut album, Gifted l, on March 25, 2022.
Koffee has also worked with the likes of J Hus, Danie Caesar, Giovanna, and Guna.
