LASU student, 5 others die in Ogun auto crash

A student of the Lagos State University, LASU, identified as Ademola Timothy alongside five others died in Ogun State auto crash.

It was gathered that the incident which claimed the life of the 26-year-old student happened on Tuesday, at 6.45a.m, before Babcock University junction, on Sagamu -Benin expressway.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command, Omolola Odutola in a statement on Thursday said the accident involved a Lexus car marked, BDG 979 HD, blue colour, a Geon truck with number plate, LAR 730 XB; and a Toyota Sienna ash colour.

Odutola blamed the sad incident on reckless driving on the part of the Lexus car driven by Emmanuel Sorunke, who rammed into a moving truck and somersaulted severally while the Toyota Sienna hit the Lexus as well, trapping it and its occupants.

She added that the student, “Ademola Ayinla Timothy was rescued and rushed to the hospital, but he did not make it; all affected and damaged vehicles have been evacuated and recovered to the station.”
