Musa reveals why he sell fuel at N580 per litre

Ahmed Musa, the captain of the Super Eagles, says he reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, at his fueling station MYCA7 in Kano State to lessen the hardship that Nigerians were experiencing as a result of the increase in the petroleum product’s price.

The 30-year-old Nigeria’s most capped footballer revealed that he reduced his price from N620 to N580 per litre via his Twitter page on Monday evening.

Since President Bola Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidy during his inauguration on May 29, the price of fuel have triple in Nigeria, which has so far raised concerns across the country.

With the product selling for as high as N700 per litre in some parts of the country, the high cost of fuel triggered a hike in foodstuff, transportation and many more across the federation.

Speaking on Wednesday with the Punch, Musa said the move was to help the masses who were suffering.

“Its the best that I can do for my people here. No matter how small the reduction is, we can live better with that. It’s tough now and I know people are struggling to survive daily.”

The Super Eagles captain also hopes to open more fuel stations across Nigeria..

“Hopefully, MYCA7 will be in other parts of the country pretty soon,” he said.
