Popular Nigerian Afrobeat singer and son of late music legend Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti reveals he is a juju worshiper.
Seun after making claims that his family started the Anglican Church in Nigeria, went and head to reveal he had other belief.
It has also been reported that Kuti’s great grandfather and grandfather, Josiah Ransome-Kuti and Reverend Israel Oludotun Ransome-Kuti, respectively, were Anglican ministers in colonial Nigeria.
But despite his family role in propagating Christianity in the country, Seun Kuti has boldly declared that he is a “juju” worshipper.
The singer made this unknown while speaking on the latest episode of Spill with Phyna, he urged others to turn back to their old ways of African traditional religions.
He said, “It was my family that started Anglican side of Christianity in this country, if you look back at it. We are among the pioneers. So, we’ve been there, we’ve done that and we’ve moved on. And we hope Africans can follow suit.
I don’t go to church. Na juju me I dey do.”
