Nigerian singer and Marlians record label boss, Naira Marley set to sue Iyabo Ojo for defamation and seeks public apology.
Naira Marley who was detained by the Nigeria police authority for investigation on late Mohbad death case, was set free a few days back and has sued actress Iyabo Ojo for defamation and demands a public apology from her.
In the filed lawsuit, Naira is accusing the mother of two of defaming him, alleging that the actress published false and malicious content about him on her Instagram page.
The letter stated that in an Instagram post published in September 2023, Iyabo accused Naira Marley of dealing with late singer, Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, spiritually and physically. The singer’s lawyers also claimed that Iyabo accused Naira of destroying Mohbad mentally.
Naira Marley is demanding Iyabo Ojo publish an apology on her official Instagram account and in a National Daily within 7 days of receiving the letter. Failure to do so would result in them commencing legal proceedings and demanding N500 million as damages from the actress.
This is not the first time the singer will be threatening to sue.
Recall that before being released from detention, the singer and his aide Sam Larry through his lawyers had filed a lawsuit against the Magistrate and Police over their continuous detention, seeking N20m each as damages.
