PDP Crisis: Tinubu offered me senatorial ticket to defect to APC, says Wike

Governor Wike disclosed this on Friday during a media parley in Port Harcourt.

Wike who was responding to a question from his interviewers on the allegation that he purchased the senatorial ticket of the PDP even before the presidential primaries of the party, which he lost to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

‘In response, he said that he never thought of contesting for senate, stating that it was because he had made a vow to the people of Rivers East Senatorial District, where he hails from, on the area that will produce who will occupy the seat.’

He said, “Even after the whole thing, Tinubu said come and go for the Senate. I said no. I won’t do that. I have already made a commitment.

“That the Senate should be zoned to this area because they have never had it before.

Wike earlier revealed that the PDP National Chairman Senator Iyorchia Ayu did everything possible for him not to emerge as the PDP candidate. Adding that Ayu manipulated the system to the extent of mounting pressures on aspirants to step down for Atiku.
