Peter Obi congratulate Gabon, Togo for joining Commonwealth

The former governor of Anambra State and presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has congratulated Gabon and Togo on their recent inclusion in the Commonwealth family.

WAKADAILY gathered that, Gabon and Togo, former French colonies, have joined the Commonwealth as its 55th and 56th members.

Rwandan President Paul Kagame said at the closing press conference, “We have admitted Gabon and Togo as new members, and we all welcome them to the Commonwealth family.”

Gabon is a sparsely populated country of 2 million people, bordering Cameroon – also a member of the Commonwealth -, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of Congo.

“Togo A West African nation on the Gulf of Guinea, is bordering Ghana to the west, Benin to the east It has a population of approximately 7.8 million people.

Mr Obi tweeted, “I congratulate the French-speaking nations of Gabon and Togo on their recent inclusion in the Commonwealth family. This inclusion will, without a doubt, enhance the diplomatic, political, and economic network of these nations,” PO.
