Portable is not designed for prison or for causing problems with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
This comes following the arrest of Pascal Okechukwu, a well-known influencer better referred to as Cubana Chief Priest, by the EFCC, it was revealed that he was apprehended for defacing the Nigerian currency.
The musician has turned to social media to present his argument to the EFCC as they initiate their efforts to take legal action against Nigerians who deface the naira note by spraying it.
Portable, who has a history of such offenses, has openly appealed to the EFCC to refrain from prosecuting him for his past actions. During an Instagram live session on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the singer urged his fans, whom he typically showers with cash during performances or on the streets, to open bank accounts. He stated that he would now transfer money directly to their bank accounts instead.
“I didn’t deface the Naira. I help a lot of people, after God na government, please forgive me if you have videos of me spraying money, no more spraying of money. My fans, if I no longer spray money, after God na government, no more spraying of money. If it’s about money, open bank accounts, and let’s make transfers,” he stated.
Just a week after the EFCC prosecuted Bobrisky, a famous Crossdresser, for misusing the naira.
They have now arrested Cubana Chief Priest, a popular influencer, for the same offense.
