Customers have grown more irate with Dana Air over the airline’s prolonged delay in issuing ticket refunds since the carrier was suspended.
Many customers were left in the dark when Dana Air decided to suspend flights due to an incident involving a runway overrun.
Remember that on April 25, after Dana Air overshot the runway, the airline declared that it was processing refunds for flights that were impacted by the company’s operational suspension?
Customers are requested to be patient and to provide their bank account numbers and ticket details in order to expedite reimbursements, according to a statement from the airline management.
Nonetheless, a number of passengers have expressed their frustration on social media over the airline’s lack of contact and the sluggish refund process.
Speaking with our correspondent, a customer who purchased a ticket two days before the suspension, Israel Adebode, stated, “My flight was supposed to be for last week Monday. Even after the ban, the website was still working until three days later; it stopped working and I have to be refunded.”
Others have claimed that after asking reimbursements on social media, the airline blocked them. A user going by the name @Ajewole Theophilus, claiming to be an impacted passenger tweeted that “Amazingly, @danaairline blocked me and other users on Twitter for requesting the refund of our money. So we can’t reach them again.”
Several consumers have criticized the purported airline’s social media behavior, pointing out that Dana Air deleted its account on X, formerly Twitter, following repeated requests for refunds.
A user with the handle @Papi_Xchulo wrote, “Are you aware that Dana Air has deactivated their @DanaAir account on X? People called them out for refunds, including myself, without any response from them. But they quickly deactivated their account. How are we going to get our refunds, please?”
The delayed refunds have disrupted travel plans and caused significant inconvenience for customers.
Another Twitter user who laid his complaint with the Twitter handle @SaibrousFarms, a business impacted by the suspension, tweeted, “We have not been refunded our money back due to the last suspension of DanaAir, which caused a setback to our logistics/itinerary.”
