Nigerian musician David Adeleke, who is professionally known as Davido, has caused a stir on the internet by declaring his intention to retire from music.
After seeing a photoshopped image of himself circulating online, the singer acknowledged the numerous individuals who wish for his departure from the music industry.
Giving in to their desires, he pledged to quit the business after releasing his next album, in order to bring them peace.
Additionally, in a separate tweet, he expressed a wish for divine punishment upon the blog responsible for spreading the viral photo.
“Yall niggas really want me out the game that bad ?? Oya, after next album I no do again . So una fit get peace”.
“Nah, God, go punish THE SHADE BOROUGH”.
His statement caused a split among people, as some pleaded for him to remain while others slammed him for adopting a victim mindset.

In a similar manner, Wizkid, his competitor, blasted his millions of fans last year for pressuring him to create new music.
Wizkid took to Instagram to explain that he was on vacation and intended to enjoy the rewards of his hard work for the next four years.
He even said the possibility of extending his break to five years or exploring new careers such as sports like basketball, golf, or wrestling.
Davido, on the other hand, shared a revelation about his musical journey in a tweet, stating that nobody has experienced peace since he entered the industry. He expressed his appreciation for the impact he has had on others.
During a recent interview, Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid all distanced themselves from the Afrobeat genre, expressing frustration with the way African artists are stereotyped within the genre, regardless of their individual musical styles.
Davido specifically referred to his music as Afro-fusion, acknowledging that Afrobeat was originally pioneered by Fela Kuti but now all African songs are labeled as Afrobeats.
