Former governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima has been sworn in as the 16th Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Monday, May 29.
The former Sanetor was sworn in at Eagles Square with the Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Olukayode Ariwoola administering the oath of office on him. His wife, Nana Shettima, was standing beside him when he took the oaths.
Tinubu and his vice president, Shettima won the February 25th election across the 36 states.
The APC candidate polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat fellow contenders – Atiku Abubakar of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 6,984,520 votes, Labour Party’s Peter Obi had 6,101,533 votes to come third and candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso with 1,496,687 votes.
