Nigerian singer and songwriter Harrison Tare Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, has broken silence following his arrest.
The instrumentalist was arrested by the police in Lagos State on his arrival on Monday.
Harrysong had earlier accused music executive, Soso Soberekon, of trying to kill him. According to him most people seen as his friends are “real enemies” looking for his downfall.
Speaking further during an interview on his relationship with Soso, he said “As a matter of fact, those are my real enemies. If you see Soso now, you’ll say Soso is my friend. Soso is not my friend, Soso is my enemy. He sent people to come and kill me in Port Harcourt, no jokes. Ask my team, ask everyone.”
Reacting to the accusation, Soberekon, through his lawyers, sent defamation notice to Harrysong, where he demanded an apology to be published in two newspapers and N500 million as compensation.
Confirming his arrest through his management noted that the singer’s phone was seized at the point of arrest.
He wrote, “I got arrested as I landed in Lagos. My phone has been seized and they won’t allow me to communicate with my people.”
