Sophie Truner filed a lawsuit after ex-husband Joe Jonas, claiming that he held their children’s passports hostage.
Recall that Wakadaily had reported that the couple had filed for divorce some days back.
According to ‘People Magazine the actress has called for the “immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained,” in a paper work she filed on 20th September 2023.
The Game of Thrones actress filed these documents in a federal court, quoting the international treaty, Hague Convention which deals with child abduction across country lines.
Sophie stated that she and her ex-husband Jonas had agreed to raise their two daughters Willa and J.D. in England as their ‘forever home’ just in December 2022, which was why they sold their Miami home in preparation. She also pointed out in the paperwork that before the divorce papers were filed, Jonas was in temporary custody of their girls because he had more daylight hours to spend with them in comparison to her and her gruelling shooting hours in the UK.
She went on to reveal that she found out about their divorce on social media, days after he filed it.
Sophie also stated in her paperwork that afterward she visited her ex-husband to discuss taking the children back to England with her and he “refused to return their passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother”.
The couples who had two wedding ceremonies, a private and intimate wedding in Las Vegas and a larger wedding in Paris met in 2016 and got engaged a year later.
The news of their divorce had left their fans in sheer shock when Jonas posted he had filed for a divorce in 1 September 2023, because Sophie had post a lovey-dovey picture of them just a week before.
