The dearth of character and morals

One major failure in our society today is that we are not a people of character.

There was a time in our history when you could drive on the highway and buy yams or fruits even without the seller being present. All you need do is keep the amount of money it is sold and exchange it with the goods there, the seller will pick it up anytime.

There was a time when if you found misplaced money on the way, you would pick it up and hang it where it could be seen to make it easier for the owner to find it.

There was a time when, if you bring home lots of money in which the source is unknown, no one collects the money from you. In fact, you are despised.

But today, we have totally lost that aspect of ourselves. There is no longer sincerity and character.

This is why anyone can be bought. Give them small money, and they are already prostrating for the devil.

The most painful part of all these is how churches contributed immensely to this rot all in the name of prosperity preaching.

There is what is known as a Moral Compass. Religion is supposed to instill this in society. It is unfortunate that in our society, anything goes. These days, we even go as far as praising and celebrating in our churches, people who are thieves…just because we need their stolen money.

Almost everything we do today in our churches concerning money and the way we treat people whom we do not even know the source of their money are totally against what Christ stood for.
