Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has called out the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu, who described them as children, he reminded Ayu that these people he referred as children were the ones who brought him from nothing and made him the party’s chairman.
Wike alleged that the PDP chairman was fixated on the N14 billion the party raised during primaries and desired to be the manager of the money. pointing out that he has demonstrated the highest level of ingratitude and arrogance for describing him and members of his team as children.
He said, These children you said we are, brought you from nothing. Now we have seen that you don’t want the party to win the election, we will help you.”
Wakadaily gathered that, during an interview on the Hausa service of the BBC on Wednesday, Ayu claimed that Wike and members of his group were not there when he and other compatriots formed the PDP in 1998.
Reacting to Ayu’s statement, Wike who spoke at the commissioning of Omerelu Internal roads in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state on Thursday said, “Ayu, you said you founded this party, but you left the party in 2007. You founded a company, you left the company, people stood and brought out the company to what it is today, you have no moral right to still come and claim that you founded that company, you left with your shares.
“Nigerians have seen how ungrateful some of you can be, and that’s why Nigerians also want to be careful, if we give these people power, are you sure they will also be grateful to Nigerians?”.
