Sandra Iheuwa, who is the mother of talent manager Ubi Franklin’s child and the ex-wife of Steve Thompson, has criticized Pastor Paul Enenche for publicly humiliating a woman during her testimony.
The woman, named Vera, shared her story at Dunamis Church, stating that she was the only “graduate in her family” with a “BSc in Law” from NOUN.
However, Pastor Enenche accused her of lying, claiming that there is no Bachelor of Science in Law and criticizing her English speaking abilities.
This incident caused a stir on social media, with Nigerians providing evidence to support Vera’s claims.
Sandra Iheuwa, in response, expressed her disappointment in the clergyman for not investigating the situation before labeling Vera a liar.
She also criticized religious people and so-called Men of God for their lack of love and their tendency towards wickedness.
“You see why I don’t go to church. Instead of the pastor to investigate before calling her a liar. Now who’s the liar now? Pastor my foot. Some of the most religious people/so-called “Man of God” are wicked and heartless. Y’all don’t practice love but wickedness”.
Similarly, Shan George criticized the clergyman while expressing her support for the woman, emphasizing that not believing someone is one thing, but how you treat them is another. She sent love to the woman and acknowledged her as a beautiful lady who made efforts to improve her life.
On the other hand, actress Jemima Osunde defended Paul Enenche, stating that he is only human. She argued that if someone were to lie without provocation, it is natural for a person to feel annoyed.
She also questioned why someone would decide to give a false testimony to the church.
However, after it was proven that the woman was indeed a graduate, Jemima Osunde publicly apologized and deleted the tweet where she mocked the woman. She explained that she congratulated her and apologized for believing that she was lying.
Pastor Paul Enenche also apologized to the woman, Vera Ayim, explaining that he never intended to disgrace her when he interrupted her testimony.
He clarified that his actions were driven by his and the church’s aversion to any appearance of mediocrity or untruth.
