Tinubu tells Atiku to quit presidential race

The presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has asked the People Democratic Party flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, to quit the presidential race, saying he was always running for the position.

The former Lagos State governor made the statement at Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu kingdom of Delta State, during his visit with traditional rulers and stakeholders of the Niger Delta region.

He said, “As I stand before you, there are few of us running. One says he is Atiku, how many times has he been running? He is now tired of running. Let’s tell him to go and sit down and quit the race. Enough is enough.”

Tinubu, indirectly mocked the Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate, although he didn’t mention name, but Peter Obi, is known for quoting statistics.

Tinubu said, “The other one—he thinks “na statistics we go chop”? He likes arithmetic that can never be solved. No Indian can solve it. To mention his name is a disgrace to me. I won’t mention his name. Wrong statistics, wrong arithmetics— warehouse economy. That is not what Nigeria needs,” he said.

Bola Tonubu, identified himself as a sson-in-lawof the Niger Delta and appealed for support in the electioneering campaign, promising to carry everyone along, develop the area and renew the hope of the people”.
