US-based lecturer trains Lagos students in arts

Shola Ajayi, a US-based lecturer of Arts and Screenwriting, has trained students of Agege Lagos Education District One, in different artworks.

Mr Micheal Omisore, a founder of Smart and Brilliant book, stated that Ajayi organized an art programme for secondary school students in Lagos, adding that the best students were usually awarded prizes for their efforts.

It read, “Shola Ajayi is the co-founder of UR4Africa, a Pan-African media organisation that focuses on teaching, producing, and distributing unique and positive African content, stories, and images. She is also the founder of Public Art Africa (an initiative of UR4Africa), a non-profit organisation that works as a mentor programme, providing African youths with hands-on experience in the areas of arts, design, media, and technology with the help of the volunteers and mentors they collaborate with.”

Also speaking, Mr Bashir Adebowale, the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary of District one, ex appreciation on Ajayi’s effort for bringing the best out of artistically inclined students in the district, saying that the district would continually be available for her programmes.

Omisore, revealed that “Shola Ajayi’s organisation, UR4Africa, and my brand, Smart and Brilliant, are strategising on having a programme that will facilitate and aid students’ learning and development through the avenue and medium of art.”

Smart and Brilliant is a book publishing firm which assists learners in reading, writing and other educational activities.
