Yomi Fabiyi, a Nigerian actor in the Nollywood industry, has supported the late singer Mohbad’s father’s decision to request a DNA test for his grandson.
During an interview with TVC News, Fabiyi emphasized that Mohbad’s family has the right to seek a DNA test, as the father is experiencing emotional pain and desires closure.
Fabiyi also stated that if the court orders Mohbad’s widow to undergo the test, she cannot refuse. He further stated that everyone involved in the case is considered a potential suspect.
“Mohbad’s family has the right to ask for a DNA. His dad is carrying the burden of pain. He wants closure. The wife can’t say no if the court gives a verdict for her to do it. Everybody is a suspect in this case”.
Remember that after the singer’s death, many people have been demanding a DNA test to confirm Liam’s paternity, who is his son. Even Mohbad’s father has requested a DNA test for his own son, a statement that Cynthia Morgan agreed with.
Omawunmi initially told her father-in-law to obtain a court order for a DNA test, but surprisingly, she changed her mind over the weekend and announced that she would not be conducting a DNA test for her son. Omawunmi explained that no one has the right to tell her to do it and emphasized that her son would not suffer the same fate as his father.
In response to this, actress Sarah Martins criticized Omowunmi, calling her an irrational widow, and questioned why she was afraid to do a DNA test. She also wondered if Omowunmi didn’t want to clear her name and protect her late husband’s reputation.
Similarly, actress Charity Nnaji addressed Nigerian men, warning them that their wives could be considered suspects if they support Mohbad’s wife. She questioned why Mohbad’s wife would willingly subject herself to such pressure without wanting to clear her name and free herself from public disgrace.
However, actress Ifemeludike showed support for Wunmi, advising her not to be intimidated and to speak up and stand her ground. Ifemeludike told her not to do DNA tests for anyone and to focus on raising her son.
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tolanibaj advised Omowunmi that if the DNA test proves that Liam is Mohbad’s son, she should sue anyone who questions her son’s paternity.
