Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has revealed the reasons behind his lack of public mourning and absence at the funeral of his late colleague, Junior Pope.
Junior Pope tragically passed away in April due to drowning in Anam River, Anambra State, while returning from a movie shoot.
Yul Edochie’s decision not to publicly mourn and attend the funeral has left many people puzzled.
Yul recently expressed his thoughts on his Instagram page, explaining that he had chosen to remain silent until after the burial.
He acknowledged that people had been questioning him for not attending the burial or commenting on the actor’s death.
Yul considered Junior Pope to be like a brother and a close friend, and he had supported him in times of need. Unfortunately, the late actor betrayed him by repeatedly hurting him.
Recognizing that such is the nature of life, Yul promised to share the complete story soon, hoping that others can learn from his experience.
He also advised others to be cautious about the wishes they have for others.
“I didn’t want to say anything till after his burial. I know many asked why I wasn’t there. Why I haven’t said anything about it since. I took him like a brother and good friend. I was there for him when he needed me.
But he stabbed me in the back, repeatedly.
That’s LIFE.
I’ll drop the full details soon so others can learn from it.
Be careful what you wish people, it could come to you”.
Remember that Yul faced slamming for disregarding Junior Pope after his death. Instead of grieving for him, Yul celebrated and offered prayers for TC Okafor, one of the survivors of the Anam River accident.
In the comments section, many slammed Yul for neglecting Junior Pope, attributing it to Junior Pope’s lack of support for Yul’s marriage to Judy Austin and Yul’s resulting animosity towards him.
In response, Yul posted a prayerful message stating that as long as his intentions are pure and he does not wish harm upon others, anyone who wishes him harm will ultimately be humiliated.
