Movie Review: Casa De Novia

Movie Review : Casa De Novia

Nollywood is really doing great and that is amazing because it relentlessly proves to us that there is hope in this country.

Casa De Novia a film by Anthill Studios and directed by Uyoyou Adia revolves around a journalist who is forced to move into a new apartment only for her to discover that the apartment was haunted and this discovery sets the whole movie on a journey.

Sincerely speaking when Niyi Akinmolyan posted the trailer for this movie on his Ig page I was so shocked, a Nigerian horror movie with a touch of comedy , something that is very unusual in the normal Nollywood, so I waited patiently on Friday till  when it was finally released on Prime Videos, I sat down with my popcorn to watch this movie with no expectations, I didn’t know what to expect because I was just so excited. So I started watching the movie and Wow!!!!!.

The story is so amazing, well developed and suspenseful and the exposition drop was just jaw dropping because it was just coming at the right time, something we barely see in movies today, I must commend the anthill studios for a well developed story.

The touch of comedy was just so good , seeing the CAST get frightened and pace through their conflicts was really amazing.

The cast did an amazing job and for the fact it was just new faces on our screen was amazing, all the cast so embodied their roles that you would never forget their performance, yes it was that good guys.

The scriptwriter did a great job too , the dialogues were well written and the movie was mixed with horror and comedy at the same time.

The VFX and CGI were so good too, like seeing the Behind the scene on IG made me wallow in the net of my amazement because how can almost everything be shot using Green screen, CGI and VFX yet we barely notice them in the movie and even when we see them we are so excited because it was not low standard.

Sincerely speaking this movie is a work of art, An embodiment of creativity.Something that will forever remain dear to our hearts.

The cinematography was so beautiful too to be sincere.

In general it was an amazing movie , a creative Masterpiece, I would give it an 8/10, that’s how good the movie is.

It’s streaming now on Prime Videos so if you haven’t seen it, you should definitely go see it and If you have seen it, tell me what you think of the movie in the comment section below. Thank you for reading and bye for now.
