Veteran journalist Dr Reuben Abati, has scolded Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, over the statement he made that Abati did not ask the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar the right questions during an interview session.
Wakadaily report last week Friday, that governor Wike addressed newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport where he described the recent interview conducted by Abati and Tundun Abiola with Atiku as one filled with lies.
However, Abati, on Arise Television the morning show on Monday reacted to Wike’s statement saying that Wike does not have the capacity and intellect to teach or correct him on his journalism career. According to him if Wike wants to start journalism, he would need to put him through for years.
Stating that he have been in this media space and he have been writing since 1985, he questioned where Governor Wike was at that time?
Abati said, Wike thinks the party belongs to him because he was substantial in reviving the Party with his resources when members were leaving, so because of that he feels entitled.
According to him, “I know the party itself would take part of the blame, when everybody abandoned the party, it was Wike who stepped in there using his resources. Well, I don’t know where those resources came from but he defended the party, to keep the party alive.
“Then he developed a sense of entitlement to the party and he thought in a royalistic manner that the top position in the party was meant for him. But, when he was disappointed he’s gone ahead to throw tantrums.
“He didn’t make it. He didn’t make the presidential ticket of the party. He was also pushed aside in the choice of the running mate of the presidential standard bearer, Atiku Abubakar. Here we are as the PDP with Wike’s problem. A sense of delusion, and thought that he could lord it over other members of the party.
